Terms & Conditions

FISHING CHARTER POLICIES

The terms and conditions every booking is made under. Our policies do not remove the necessity to abide by the Victorian Fisheries Authority Recreational Fishing Guide.

Refund policy

A partial (50%) refund is available if more than 48 hours notice is provided.

If cancellation is due to bad weather*, an opportunity will be provided to find another suitable date. If a suitable date cannot be found, a full refund will be provided.

*Bad weather will be determined by the fishing charter operator at their sole discretion. No correspondence will be entered into.

Bad weather policy

In the event of bad weather some trips will need to be cancelled. We will call you before 6pm the night before to advise if our morning trip is not going, and early morning if the afternoon trip is not proceeding.

Alcohol consumption policy

Some key notes regarding alcohol, alcoholic consumption and behaviour.

  • I'm Hooked Fishing Charters subscribes to responsible drinking. If a passenger attempts to board the boat and the skipper deems them already intoxicated, they will be refused entry.
  • Being on a boat is not a licence to get outrageously drunk. As with licensed venues (like pubs and hotels), intoxicated passengers will not be tolerated and may cause a charter to be terminated without refund.
  • Beer is permitted in cans. Two cans per person over five hours is acceptable.
  • No bottles of clear spirits will be allowed on board (tequila, vodka, gin, whisky and the like), and definitely no shooters.
  • Drinking water is required on all boat charters, at least one bottle per person.
  • An icebox is provided, so you don't need to bring an esky. You will need to bring your own bags of ice to keep your drinks cool.
  • Treat our boat like you'd treat your own house. Keep it clean!
  • Rubbish bins and bin liners are provided. Please use them. The crew will dispose of empty containers at the end of the trip, but if you leave a mess on the boat you will be charged for the clean-up afterwards.

Medical conditions policy

Clients must notify us of any medical conditions before the charter.

Sea sickness tips

It's a good idea to take a preventative. Avil, Travel Calm or Kwells are available at chemists. Take one the night before, and make sure you take a tablet at least one hour before boarding the vessel. Once you are on board it's too late to take a preventative, as motion sickness is predominantly caused by the middle ear. Some people use an ear plug in one side to help with this.

What to bring

Warm clothes, hat, sunscreen, spray jacket and camera. Leave an esky in your car to keep your fish cool on the way home.

Subscription offers

Subscription offers that require new subscribers are available to new customers only. We understand that people have multiple email addresses; however, if the person who claims a new-subscriber prize and presents for the charter is an existing customer, the prize is no longer valid as it breaks the terms of the prize (new subscribers and customers only). New subscribers must remain subscribed for a minimum of two months.

Tuesday Charter Challenge: the winner is the first person to subscribe to the I'm Hooked Fishing Charters newsletter on Tuesday morning, Melbourne time (AEST). The time and IP address of all subscribers is recorded in our email subscription tool. The prize is one place on an existing individual Mixed Bag (Snapper, Whiting and Calamari) charter in either Port Phillip or Western Port Bay. Allocation of the prize depends on availability on existing charters; if the charter is full, we will find a different charter for you.
